My art, whether it be an illustration or painting, is a window. For me it is a window

into another world. In this chimerical world, animals have feelings and speak, humans are silent at times and innocent, and places move and dance as if listening to their favorite song. Fish will fly, birds will swim and serpents are humble and shy. A world that I have created and froze for one second. One glimpse. One single frame of life in this world. I have breathed my life into these places, these creatures, these people, and these animals.

They now have a purpose and a reason for existing.

I use a pencil, a pen or even a paintbrush as the inner workings of my own

personal camera I have concocted in order to capture the beauty of what I see and how I see it.

Most of my art is personal; Feelings, raw emotions, fears, joys, sadness, tears, smiles

and my life in a tangible presentation. I know a piece is done when I want to stick my head inside of it and look left to right, up and down and see what else is around. That is what is most beautiful to me… what you can’t see past the parameters of the page or canvas and only have this one reference to guide your imagination as to what else exists there.

It is my topsy-turvy town. I believe that my art manifests what I envision life to be if I had my way. If I had created it all. If I were making the rules. It is what I still hold on to.

What I would say if I could with no recourse, what I would do if there were no consequences. What I believe is still salvageable in this world.

While this may not be your average artist statement, please bear in mind… I am not your average artist.
